March 18, 2004cry for help...has anyone got any advice (apart from installing the upgrade to MT 2.661, which i already did) for something to prevent the incessant stupidity and annoyance that is comment spamming? is this only an MT phenomenon? i'm getting tons and tons of it, and of course i can ban IP addresses until the world ends and it doesn't really make that great of a dent in things, for a variety of reasons. a pox on you if you're a stupid, vile comment-spammer. and also a plague on your house. and if it's all automated, then i redirect my curses toward whoever came up with this brilliant scheme in the first place. it's really just obnoxious, and you bloody well know it. though of course i'm quite sure you don't care. i'd still stick a fork in your stupid, obnoxious eyeballs if ever i met you, though. keep that wellin mind. *growls* suggestions are welcome and appreciated. unless of course they're spam, in which case...er, yeah. >E~~~~~~ January 30, 2004crazy like a fooli've a long, long, LONG entry (well, in my head) that i'd like to write about Monster (short version: see it. it's very good. but know what it's about first, because it's just amusing to sit in a theatre with a bunch of tards who obviously only went to see it cos it was [at the time we went to see it] heavily tipped to be nominated for awards. and now has won awards. and seriously, complaining that it doesn't have a ruddy happy ending when it's based [well, parts] on a true story?!??! aieeee. --;;;) i don't think i'll get to it before we leave, though. Spaz and i are hitting the road and going on vacation for the next week. so don't expect loads from me. although we'll be taking photos, and will of course January 13, 2004you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!we here at Kerfuffle.org are proud to announce the grand opening of Joe's Garage, which is my oft-mentioned coconspirator Spaz' ongoing photo log/gallery of various automotive events we've been to and will go to in the future (as well as various things we see on the road). some of these photos have appeared here at HSL in the past, and i'm sure some will continue to do so in the future. we can't remember who took what any more, although i can say that he probably took most of the photos you'll see in his garage. take a peek inside and enjoy! May 13, 2003from love on the lawn to daggers at dawn in a dayfor any not aware, this week is damn busy. mostly because Acen is at the end of the week. and of course, all of us are in preparation. and of course, life. therefore, am v. intermittent and hope you'll forgive me. what do you say...i'll share my tea! ^^ *halos* don't know how much/if i'll say much here from Thursday until at least Sunday. am not like ShinJon, who has been known to have the following conversation (or variants thereof) on IRC: HSD_Shinji: brb XD oh, the Special, Special people i know... April 26, 2003licking up a mess of fun......and wow, never thought i'd reference that here. XD anyrate, just posted an update at Licking the Spoon. hope to actually update it a little more frequently, too. not planning to adhere to an actual schedule, but i think only one entry in a month is a bit sad, really. XD March 31, 2003brake, baby, brake---taking me in with all your charmscurrently spinning: "my white noise." blur. right, then. who needs the utterly unnecessary remake of The Italian Job, anyway? certainly not i. i can get my Mini (and MINI) fixes elsewhere. aside from having the original on its way to me even as i type this (and i checked---it really did ship out this time), i just found out that this DVD came out here. WEIRD. considering the original Minis weren't really anything like prevalent over here, and hadn't been put out here for decades. i know that people who are into them here (as well as elsewhere) are usually REALLY into them, but still. i've been frequently amazed at some of the things that have come out here, though---i guess this is just one more thing to add to the list. aha! it's Kultur! no wonder! they put out all sorts of random stuff like this---and what's cool is, a lot of it is R1. granted, at this point it doesn't really matter too much for us, but that makes it a little easier and cheaper, and will look slightly better for not having to be converted...^^ also, if i get really desperate, i can always go watch Fresh Gear on TechTV and hope Sumi Das talks about her MINI Cooper S some more. ^-^ and heck, despite how much i really don't care in the least for (er, and i think we've been watching a little too much TechTV lately. oops. ^^;;;) also, on a completely unrelated note, new recipe up at Licking The Spoon. enjoy! March 27, 2003gone in a flashmight be vanished for a few days. don't be alarmed. in the meantime, play nice---since it seems other people can't. :P [N.B. ...also, Sabina is evil. <3 <3 i believe this is nothing you didn't already know. but it's a thing that bears repeating, i think. XD] [added at 5:44pm, same day: oh yes. go have a look at this week's Onion. beautiful. i <3 the Onion so very, very much. XD] March 25, 2003frosting on the beater*currently spinning: "out of time." blur. as long ago mentioned, have finally started a recipe archive toddling off on its own. it will be updated according to whim and on nothing approaching a regular basis. also, it doesn't have anything as of this moment that you haven't already seen here. if you'd like to take a look, here you go: hopefully i'll eventually get around to * = and no, that's neither Fred nor George, thank you very much. |
