March 30, 2004time every journey to bump into you accidentallythe band is hitting the road again and playing a show in lovely Milwaukee, WI at Concinnity 2004 on Saturday, 17 April 2004. we're also allegedly sitting on a panel about Japanese pop music; i don't know what time either of these things is taking place, but if you're in the area and are interested in seeing us, we'd be happy to see you... we'll also be playing Acen 2004 next month, if you're of a mind. (wow, this is busy, for us...XD) March 27, 2004burn it downour evening last night consisted of the following: add an encore of "this fire" + Alex breaking an E string (i think---may be wrong on that) + Nick breaking his guitar into little chunks accidentally and having a tuning peg go flying whilst Kimmie, Spaz and i looked on. as for the show itself, see them. they're hitting Chicago again on 12th June, which is a Saturday. tickets are $15 if you buy them direct and in person, and a bit more if you go the ticketblaster route. they go on sale at noon CST today. you can also find out when they're coming to a venue near you. March 24, 2004yes i'm a losersome people i know might be interested to know that they can listen to and/or watch the appearance Franz Ferdinand made on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic about a week or so ago. i'm just saying, is all. March 18, 2004cry for help...has anyone got any advice (apart from installing the upgrade to MT 2.661, which i already did) for something to prevent the incessant stupidity and annoyance that is comment spamming? is this only an MT phenomenon? i'm getting tons and tons of it, and of course i can ban IP addresses until the world ends and it doesn't really make that great of a dent in things, for a variety of reasons. a pox on you if you're a stupid, vile comment-spammer. and also a plague on your house. and if it's all automated, then i redirect my curses toward whoever came up with this brilliant scheme in the first place. it's really just obnoxious, and you bloody well know it. though of course i'm quite sure you don't care. i'd still stick a fork in your stupid, obnoxious eyeballs if ever i met you, though. keep that wellin mind. *growls* suggestions are welcome and appreciated. unless of course they're spam, in which case...er, yeah. >E~~~~~~ March 11, 2004fire out of controlnew and (hopefully) upcoming: response to Harpy on MP3 love. which i'm not doing a fantabulous job describing, even, so i'd read it if i were you. and if i hadn't already. ^^ want to write a good, proper response...however, it shall take time. March 10, 2004raining doom down upon the doomed heads...you can preorder the first volume of Invader ZIM on DVD now. just so you know. Amazon.com also has it, but i believe it's about $17.47, not including shipping. drunkard to mayhem!so apparently some drunken idiot plowed into the Slave Labor Graphics offices over the weekend. luckily, it happened late at night, with no one actually in the office, so none of the SLG people were hurt. there's photos of the aftermath at the above link, though. March 03, 2004cuppa controversy!Paul the Postman* mentions having need of finding himself a mission statement. perhaps George Orwell's inspiring essay, A Nice Cup of Tea might be of some assistance in this matter---after all, oughtn't everyone have a specific set of rules about tea-making? this is Not A Matter To Be Taken Lightly, yo. ;) * = and heavens**, whatever would we do if you were to suddenly cease in being a Postman? for instance, if you were to come into a large sum of money and quit the Royal Mails altogether---what should we call you? it seems somehow wrong to call you anything else, quite frankly...XD ** = the foregoing clearly indicates i've known Fifichu a wee bit too long. XDXD March 02, 2004jyuukuuji no NEWSaccording to this article at Bounce.com (via the pure j-rock ML), Matsui Ryo of The Brilliant Green has been working on a new solo project called "Meister." while i do in fact enjoy The Brilliant Green (and his guitar work), what's even more interesting is that according to the article he's been in London working with Amanda (formerly of Bis), amongst other people. will be most interested to hear the results... unrelatedly, big ups to The Sumilicious One for providing info and links to those Franz Ferdinand videos. and, er, well, that lyrical discovery explains all the "sticky" references, doesn't it?
