March 27, 2004burn it downour evening last night consisted of the following: add an encore of "this fire" + Alex breaking an E string (i think---may be wrong on that) + Nick breaking his guitar into little chunks accidentally and having a tuning peg go flying whilst Kimmie, Spaz and i looked on. as for the show itself, see them. they're hitting Chicago again on 12th June, which is a Saturday. tickets are $15 if you buy them direct and in person, and a bit more if you go the ticketblaster route. they go on sale at noon CST today. you can also find out when they're coming to a venue near you. XD i basically grinned and said, "in the unlikely event that none of us (gesturing to the three of us) wants it, then yes, you can have it. but i have to say it's really, REALLY unlikely." your response would've been good, though. have to remember it next time. i don't think he got a set list. unlike me. XD er...well, Nick was playing the guitar that broke, so i assumed it was his. XD Alex just broke a string. it was sad, though. i don't think it's irreparable---it's not as though the neck broke or something. if the neck broke, that'd pretty much be the end---i mean, a new neck could be fitted, but it'd be a huge pain in the arse and you'd probably be better off just buying a new one by that point. :P oh yeah, i was really paranoid about tickets for this show since hearing about SXSW and seeing the sad people out in front of this show who hadn't got tickets and were hoping some kind soul would take them in. got ones for me, Spaz, and also my sister. XD isn't till June, but oh well. XD Posted by: janni at March 29, 2004 09:47 AMthat was alex's guitar XD oops. i hope it's still intact for the rest of the tour; i like shiny red things. it amuses me when guys out-fangirl the girls...i probably would have turned around and growled,"it's mahn, beetch!" did you snag a ticket for the next show? Posted by: soomydoo at March 28, 2004 11:02 PMyep, that's the one. it wasn't too bad. it wasn't in too many pieces---the headstock was banged up pretty badly, and i saw at least one tuning peg fly off. this one dude who was standing behind my friend Kim (standing back with Spaz in the "convulsing boi" section, as he calls it XD) tried to get us to give him the set list we were standing in front of. Spaz thinks he was trying to get one of the pieces of Nick's guitar after the show, and i know i heard him asking the dude who was cleaning up if he could get one of the other set lists. dunno if anyone got pieces or not, though... Posted by: janni at March 28, 2004 08:50 PMoh no, it wasn't the spangly red guitar, was it?! little mishaps are fun--i would have attempted to nab a souvenir ;) Posted by: soomydoo at March 27, 2004 07:48 PMPost a comment
