dale is my hero.

am now back from wedding.

it was a very nice wedding. granted, haven't been to so many, but i do get the feeling this may well be something i think of this wedding in the future as well. really, quite nice. mostly cos v. non-trad. liked muchly.

am too exhausted to say much other than a large "FUFUFUFUFUFUFU! XDXD" at the fact that Dale (who arranged and wrote a bunch of the music for the pianist) arranged a v. nice solo piano version of "Biznotic Love Trapezoid" "Bizarre Love Triangle" which was played while i was walking down the aisle (was in groom's party, remember. XD). FU. FU. FU. <3 <3 <3 also, pain mix of "Strangelove." indeed, i say it AGHEIN. XDXD

finally, what you all came here for:

(as always, thumbnail will open larger version in another window. beware; it's HUGE. but i thought you'd like it that way. ;) )

will give rundown of keeki later, in likely excruciating detail. know this for now, however: pumpkins were white chocolate painted with Dust, which is the only substance that can really colour chocolate well, as chocolate will seize up and not cooperate if one adds normal food colourings to it. moulded & painted by myself. fwee. did so love mixing those colours. <3 therefore, pumpkins (including the large ones, which were the size of fists and completely solid) were completely edible. score. acorns, on the other hand, were real. and while acorns may certainly be edible, these were glazed so as to preserve and also make sure anything living inside them didn't decide to make a surprise appearance. glaze was acrylic + nontoxic, but still would not have been advisable to eat. these were removed before serving, but were a v. cute biproduct of brainstorming while we were at Blackhawk Farms Raceway earlier this past autumn.

*yawns hugely* right. way past my bedtime. that and open bar. no rum or sour mix, so no rum + cokes for many and no amaretto sours for me. but amaretto + 7Up is not so bad. and Bailey's + kohi = much wub indeed. XD also, way too much sugar. but you knew that already. right, sleepy. and am shivering in cold so much can barely type. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

that keeki could eat the ENTIRE world. or would that be having your cake and eating it too?

Posted by: fiona at December 4, 2003 11:47 PM

holy shit! that looks fabulous!

...and in its keekiness, eat them? XD

one keeki to rule them all...seriously!!!

Keito-chan: it's completely them, too. in fact, for their toast after the bridal party was introduced up at the head table, Sarah + Eric's glasses were these v. nice Jack + Sally glasses they've had for awhile now. they're both huge fans of Danny Elfman, and also (unsurprisingly) of Tim Burton. thus, er, much music was played during all the introductory stuff. :) they made that cake topper from some christmas ornaments and the lid off a candle, actually, so even more special & personalised & perfect for them. ^^

Rrrrobbbb: thanks. ^^ will try to get to making-of photos soon. will make whole little exhibit to share. fwee!

i finally saw nightmare before christmas for the first time.. and that is the cutest topper i've ever seen on a keeki. makes me want to get married just so i can put something cute on my keeki.

like, seiya and usagi or something cheezy like that.

(seiya as star fighter, mind you)

i wanna hear all about the wedding!! and more keeki pics!!!

Keito-chan: *^^* awww. but isn't that really Nigella? or wait, you prolly aren't familiar with her. you should see her some time. she kicks arse. XD but thank you v. v. much. ^^

Jazzlah: hee. yeah, people seemed pretty impressed. i was even quite surprised it pulled together the way it did, because just frosting it, i wasn't sure the green was quite right. but the turning point was when we wrapped the vines around the pillars up at the top---then it started to look really nice. ^^

we didn't know what the topper was going to be, either. we suspected it would be Jack + Sally, because if you know the two parties in question, you just would. but they insisted it be a surprise---we kept saying that if it WAS Jack + Sally, then this cake would be utterly perfect. i'm so glad we read their minds. XD

janni likes to cook and bake. a lot. but mostly? she likes to sharpen her knives. because a dull knife is a dangerous knife, and we simply can't have that...

about this layout:
this is acid reflux v. 5.0 of Headphones Save Lives. featuring the ebullient Emperor Chairman Kaga from the fine Fuji TV show Ryori no Tetsujin and seen in the US on the Food Network as Iron Chef. revel in his mastery of bell peppers!
