July 22, 2003lost time, the making up ofso far, it seems i've been filling my summer up with DWJ books i hadn't read when i was younger. (which isn't to say that what i read when i was younger was a waste of time, but i'm still rather amazed i completely missed out on DWJ when i was younger. and had more time to read. ah, for those glorious days of taking out 20+ books at once from my local library...^^;;;) anyrate, here's what i've read recently: Castle in the Air and i've just now started off the Dalemark Quartet with Cart and Cwidder (which i note that Meril has also read recently ^^). previous to that, i'd only read Howl's Moving Castle and A Tale of Time City. suggestions as to what to read next, after i finish off the Dalemark Quartet? I'm not as big on the Chrestomanci series as Fi is. >D The first book, starring Cat, is enjoyable. After that, though, the stories weren't as interesting, and the tone felt too... distinctly young for my taste. My DWJ-obsessed friend Ingrid adores Hexwood to pieces. A lot of it went over my head because I'm not all that familiar with Arthurian legend, but it was another one of her Unexpected-Bit-After-Unexpected-Bit books that I love. :3 Posted by: beerumono at July 22, 2003 12:08 PMYOU MUST READ THE CHRESTOMANCI SERIES RIGHT NOW. Stop everything else you're doing, read this series. Really. Also, Dogsbody made me cry when I was nine. It still makes me cry now. Would recommend reading the Chrestomanci stuff totally. And well everything Posted by: Jazza at July 22, 2003 10:52 AMPost a comment
