we're falling in, so let's swim

got woke up this morning by rather violent storms outside and hail battering against our windows. it's calmed down quite a bit now, but it's always alarming when one looks outside one's window and sees the trees in their yard bouncing. XD i just hope the plants are okay. we were busybusybusy this weekend. here's some of what we did.

here's the biggest part of our garden. i <3 the little rosemary tree. XD

didn't think we'd get strawberries this year; thought it was far too late in the season, and they don't really like summer much. we'll see how these do. that is, if they're really strawberries at all---in this photo (and particularly in the full-sized version, which you can view by clicking on the thumbnail), they kinda look like some sort of creepy alien life form...^-^

there's also some really neat flowers we planted around the tree out front. celosia plumosa, and some other things. haven't taken pictures of them yet, however, but i will soon. ^^

we also saw this really neat old 1936 Buick coupe, complete with rumble seat in the back. the little steps lead up to the handle on the trunk, and that door folds down to provide extra passenger seating.

there was also a Ford GT40. a real one. it was quite amazing. Spaz took loads of photos of it. here's the only part of it you'd be likely to see on the road, unless of course it got caught up at a stoplight...

(there was also much parentage this weekend. aieeeeeee. o.o;;;; no photos of that, however. call it generosity. XD)

XD well, The Mommie told me yesterday at lunch that actually, all proper strawberries should be done growing for the season about now. that's why there are so many huge sales going on in stores right now on them. she was a little alarmed when i told her mine had just sprouted about a week ago. XD on my week off, she'd invited me strawberry-picking up at this place that she and her mom go to every year in Wisconsin, but i was too busy to go. ;.; too bad, as i missed an afternoon of nyummy jam-making as a result. but they're planning on going to their usual peach orchard at the beginning of August, and i'm invited along for that, so i'll have to make sure i can go. mmm, peach jam! never made jam before, but eager to learn...^^

and thank you; but ky00t has its roots in Harpy, actually. it's all her fault. XDXD

our strawberries are deformed as well! but i think that is because i stuck it right in front of the filter part of the air conditioner and all this dirt got onto it! pollution, bleah!

your garden is sooooooo kyooot! as you would say! XD XD XD

thanks! ^^ it went as well as it possibly could've. which isn't to say it didn't cause much brain haemorrhaging pain, but, well...it's over. and we had nyummy German food, so cannae complain too much. XD

janni likes to cook and bake. a lot. but mostly? she likes to sharpen her knives. because a dull knife is a dangerous knife, and we simply can't have that...
