now featuring...princesses! both with and without pants!

<randomness>

leaving for the evening; noticed a big wood-and-glass display case near the front of the library just past where the entrance turnstiles are. it's got two Utena artbooks, the first volume of the Utena manga (in Japanese), the first volume of Paradise Kiss (the Tokyopop version), a volume of Domu, and a couple of other things.

and no explanation whatsoever as to why any of it's there. half the case is still empty, however, so i can only assume whatever this is is in the midst of being completed.

still, it's not every day a random glass case filled with manga and manga artbooks shows up on your way somewhere, is it? XD

will go home now. really.

Beeru-chan: nonsense! what are Utena and Anthy? and also, i'll have to update this with the fact that i looked closer and learned more about the exhibit, and that there's also some Kizuna in there. say what you will now about princesses and pants or lack thereof! XD

There was a DISTINCT lack of princesses, princes, pants, and lack of pants! Don't misadvertise, missie, lest your fans grow dissolusioned with you.

Elva-chan: not to my knowledge. i think we might have the Frederick Schodt books around. might. *checks* hrrm. we've got all three (am including the Four Immigrants translation in this), as well as Dreamland Japan in Korean. hrrm. there IS a very vital anime club here, but i don't think we have much in the way of manga here...i could be wrong, though. perhaps there's a class that deals with manga? i don't regularly go look, since i don't take classes here...

Paul: i can't remember now...did you say at one time that Mrs. Postman works in a library? eep. i have such an awful memory. am sorry. ;.; if it helps, i've got a bunch of manga in my own personal library at home. most of which is mine. although it's not nearly as grandiose as some people i know. XD and one girl i know (who doesn't have much of an online presence) had once declared that she was going to try to amass the largest collection of shoujo manga in the US. dunno how serious she was, though. XD

I thought i had entered librarianavengers.com for a minute....
Sounds like a library that i may like to join though ...i shall have to ask Mrs Postman if she has any plans to introduce Manga displays into her library...though i doubt it very much , i can see her scowling even as i think about it.

...Does your library have a fairly large manga/anime section?

janni likes to cook and bake. a lot. but mostly? she likes to sharpen her knives. because a dull knife is a dangerous knife, and we simply can't have that...

about this layout:
this is acid reflux v. 5.0 of Headphones Save Lives. featuring the ebullient Emperor Chairman Kaga from the fine Fuji TV show Ryori no Tetsujin and seen in the US on the Food Network as Iron Chef. revel in his mastery of bell peppers!
