MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOUR IS A PRICK

: "el derecho de vivir en paz + shinoshin 3-4." ground-zero.

much to do this weekend. will be going to see The Ring in a couple of hours. and found out Mariam will be too, although not with us. though she might join in the fun next weekend of going to see CoS with me, Spaz, and my mom. we shall see.

i haven't seen the original Ring yet. hope to sometime so i can compare. ^^

anyway, went to the book sale and got free bookish goodness yesterday. not a lot, though---only two things, in fact. unfortunately, the title mentioned below was gone, but honestly...how could the contents have lived up to the title? perhaps i'm better off not having got it? XD

anyway, onto the two i did get. one was a cookbook. a soup cookbook, in fact. called Caldos Quentes: Uma Opcão de Inverno Para as Quatro Estacões, by Catharina Vicentini. bom apetite!~~~ >D~~~

the other i picked up mostly because of the disclaimer at the front. it is, in fact, one of the best disclaimers i think i've ever read. here you are:

"None but the most blindly credulous will imagine the characters and events in this story to be anything but fictitious. It is true that the ancient and noble city of Oxford is, of all the towns of England, the likeliest progenitor of unlikely events and persons. But there are limits."

the book is a reprint of Edmund Crispin's The Moving Toyshop, done to be part of Bantam's "The Collection of Mystery Classics." in a really nice padded leatherette binding that i wish more books were done in. and it was free.

i've never read any of his work before, nor do i know much about it. but i couldn't pass it up with that disclaimer, and especially as it was free. >D

must hop off now...much to do. have good weekends, all of you! ^^

janni likes to cook and bake. a lot. but mostly? she likes to sharpen her knives. because a dull knife is a dangerous knife, and we simply can't have that...

about this layout:
this is acid reflux v. 5.0 of Headphones Save Lives. featuring the ebullient Emperor Chairman Kaga from the fine Fuji TV show Ryori no Tetsujin and seen in the US on the Food Network as Iron Chef. revel in his mastery of bell peppers!
