RADIO, RADIO, RADIO...

: "anyone can play guitar." radiohead.

forgot to mention; saw a bit of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City this weekend. Spaz' brother's got it. and it's fairly entertaining, as one would expect. although i still don't think i'll ever be as amused as i was when i was driving a fare around in my taxi in GTA3, and then i crashed, rolled the taxi down an embankment, and caused the message, "your passenger has fled in terror!" to come up onscreen. XXXD

anyway, one of the more amusing things to me about this series has always been the radio stations, and the fact that you can switch them around in whatever car you're driving. which is particularly funny if you consider the fact that i generally try not to listen to the radio much in real life. heh.

so anyway, one station (The Wave, i think, is its name) was playing some Frankie Goes To Hollywood* song (not "Relax," for once, which would only make Ben Stiller pop into my head...XD). which wouldn't ordinarily have done anything to merit mentioning, except that the DJ felt the need to comment on Trevor Horn's production of the band**. thusly provoking the following transaction (or a reasonable facsimile thereof):

me: *snickersnickerchortle*...they mentioned Trevor Horn. XD
Spaz:...you would know who that is, wouldn't you?
me: *snickersnicker*
Spaz: (to his brother) I'm not leaving till we hear some Duran Duran.
(mass laughter ensues)

his brother hasn't got very far in the game yet, but he hasn't had it for very long, either. so no hookers yet. XD

in other gaming news, i forgot to mention that we saw a LONG commercial for Metroid Prime before we saw The Ring a couple of weeks ago. leading both Spaz and i to go O.O;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; at the screen for quite some time; neither of us daring to blink. after the commercial (which looked AMAZING) was finally over, Spaz (in a very tiny voice) said, "...I need a Game Cube." which made me smirk, as i knew that's what he would say. meanwhile, i kept thinking it would be really cool if they did an entire Metroid movie that looked as amazing as this commercial.

yes, i know. video game movies, by definition, tend to suck massive amounts of ass. Metroid's certainly got the story for it, though. and no matter how anyone felt about the Final Fantasy movie, most agree that it at least looked amazing. i know it'll never happen, but man. if done properly, it'd be damn cool. ^^

hrrm, i hope i get to play more of Lunar 2 during my vacation. because i really would like to finish the game in this lifetime. --;;;;;

* = hands down, that has got to be one of the single dumbest band names EVER. although you didn't need me to tell you that. but. i think this footnote is completely warranted. XD

** = bless your pointy little heads, Rockstar.

janni likes to cook and bake. a lot. but mostly? she likes to sharpen her knives. because a dull knife is a dangerous knife, and we simply can't have that...
