BREAD BOWL SUPERSTAR!

ah, yes; the promised scene from Sunday:

that's our favourite wintertime soup (the one i posted the recipe for last week), sitting in lovely rye bread bowls made with this recipe (thank you, Food Network! XD). and of course, there's two lovely salads as well, carefully crafted (in his usual fashion) by Spaz. wish the photo was better; it was a REALLY good meal*. i've got to make more of those bread bowls this weekend...

(that bread recipe does indeed make two loaves of bread, which translates into about six good-sized bread bowls. nummy. ^^ i'd advise against attempting to make this or any other type of rye bread if you're having wrist problems, however---the first time i made it, i ended up wearing a wrist brace for a few days afterward. it's quite a workout. my wrists must have gotten stronger since then, however; i made a full recipe this time around and was perfectly fine! XD oh, and the bread does take quite a lot of time. but it's worth it, and what's best about it is that most of the time it takes, you can ignore it as it's just sitting and rising. ^^)

[the following was added at 11:10am. although i get up horribly early, i generally don't eat lunch at 9am. XD]

i just had leftover ebi okonomiyaki for lunch. it reheats a whole lot better than you'd think. ^-^

in other news, i also just completed a circuit of the library with a backpack full of beef broth on my back.

stop looking at me like that.

more later...

* = yes, Beeru-chan, that is the table. XD

janni likes to cook and bake. a lot. but mostly? she likes to sharpen her knives. because a dull knife is a dangerous knife, and we simply can't have that...

about this layout:
this is acid reflux v. 5.0 of Headphones Save Lives. featuring the ebullient Emperor Chairman Kaga from the fine Fuji TV show Ryori no Tetsujin and seen in the US on the Food Network as Iron Chef. revel in his mastery of bell peppers!
